This is the official start of the new adventure of Haas. On October 20, the American team announced with great fanfare that it had found a new title sponsor, around a multi-year contract with the American company MoneyGram, specializing in money transfers.
After allying itself for only six months with the Rich Energy of the whimsical entrepreneur William Storey, Haas therefore entered into a partnership with MoneyGram, whose name now appears in the official name of the team. Also, the team logo makes room for the Texan brand.
It remains to be seen what the real contribution of this new sponsor will be. At the time of the announcement made last October, our German colleagues fromaMuS revealed that the deal signed with MoneyGram would indeed allow Haas to have a budget that is modeled on the cost ceiling for the first time in its history.
As a reminder, the cap was set at 140 million dollars in 2022, and will be 135 million in 2023, when the partnership becomes effective. It will obviously be necessary for words to be transformed into actions, and for all this to come to fruition, but by being at the budget cap, Haas would have the means, at least on a financial level, to fight on a slightly more equitable footing with -visits the competition from the middle of the pack.
