Carlos Sainz (Renault), Kevin Magnussen (Haas), both Toro Rosso de Pierre Gasly et Brendon Hartley, who were in all cases penalized by several places on the grid, and Max Verstappen (Red Bull), forced to stay in the garage after a suspension failure in Q1, did not make it through to Q2 this Saturday in Austin, Texas.

The Ferrari by Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel signed the two best times of the session, the Finn setting the benchmark in 1'32″884, 195 thousandths ahead of the German. If Räikkönen achieved his performance on ultra-soft tires, Vettel achieved his time on super-soft tires.

Lewis Hamilton et Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) follow in the ranking ahead Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) and a still excellent Charles Leclerc (Alfa Romeo Sauber), sixth.
