While the British Grand Prix, whose contract extends until 2026, could no longer be contested at Silverstone after 2019, Damon Hill, 1996 world champion, stepped up to defend the British event and takes the opportunity to encourage the country's leaders to help the Grand Prix.

“It is a much-loved national event, but for several reasons it has always been very difficult to obtain additional funding from the government, explains the former pilot Williams to Press Associated.

Perhaps now is the time to look at the British Grand Prix in the context of what is happening elsewhere and understand that it is a very good showcase for our banner and to show that we shine in this area.

When you think about post-Brexit, you have to ask yourself if this is exactly the type of thing where we need to invest to show what we can do. »
