While the decision to McLaren concerning 2018 is not yet confirmed, Bernie Ecclestone is already commenting on the choice of the Woking team which according to him would have retained Fernando Alonso for 2018. The British structure should confirm this week its partnership with Renault replacing Honda for 2018.
“The contract with Renault is signed, said the former director of the FOM to the Daily Mail. It's big news that Alonso is staying. However, I don't understand why McLaren will be more satisfied with Renault. It wasn't Honda's fault that things didn't work out, it was McLaren's. They fought each day instead of working with them. It was a bit stupid. »
