The first practice session of the Indian GP ends prematurely for Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), who is obliged to stop his car on the track after a noise was heard on his F150° Italia. The Asturian had only completed 4 laps of the track.
Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) raises the bar by setting a benchmark time of 1:27:515, one second better than his teammate Jenson Button. Michael Schumacher (Mercedes) follows in front Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) and Felipe Massa (Ferrari).
