Qualified in last position on the starting grid for the Chinese Grand Prix, Marcus Ericsson however, received a five-place penalty for inappropriate behavior during qualifying in Shanghai. The Swede was found guilty of not slowing down sufficiently under yellow flags after his teammate's spin Charles Leclerc.
The FIA also gave him three penalty points on his license, bringing his total to five penalty units over the last 12 months.
