Sebastian Vettel anticipated his stop, one lap before that of Fernando Alonso (Ferrari). The pilot Red Bull put on soft tires but he was unable to regain the advantage over the Spaniard.
Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) passed Mark Webber (Red Bull) during the stops and took 3rd place.
