Ferrari would have preferred Michelin

To succeed Bridgestone as tire manufacturer for the racing teams Formula 1 from 2011, it now seems clear that Pirelli will soon be made official. But is it a unanimous choice? It seems not, even if a joint decision will have to be validated. According to several consistent reports, certain teams, and not the least important ones, had opted for Michelin. This is the case of McLaren, Mercedes, Renault and, much more surprisingly, Ferrari, which Pirelli claimed was a strong support in his candidacy. But Pirelli being the choice of the majority of teams, it is the Italian manufacturer which should be chosen. For these teams, Pirelli represents the best compromise between quality and cost.
