Unsurprisingly, Ferrari will do without the services of its F-duct next weekend in Monaco. The team of Maranello introduced it in racing this weekend in Barcelona but still needs to improve its activation, with drivers having to plug a hole with the back of their left hand to activate it. In Monaco, the few straight lines, the lower speed and the high number of difficult turns require significant aerodynamic downforce. In fact, the F-duct being useful in a straight line and at high speed, it will not be necessary during the next Grand Prix. “ In Monaco, we will not use the variable load wing, declares Stefano Domenicali for AS. What is the effect of F-duct? I don't know the gain but, in our simulations, it is better [not to use it]. »
