Since the confirmation of the departure of Nico Hulkenberg from Force India to Renault Sport F1 Team in 2017, the second seat in Vijay Mallya's team is attracting envy. Sauber driver alongside Felipe Nasr, the Swede Marcus Ericsson does not hide that the Force India option remains possible for the next season.

“I think all the drivers who don't have a contract for next year are looking at this seat, Ericsson said at a press conference yesterday in Mexico. Obviously, Force India is the second best car available at the moment, so that's clearly an option.

But Sauber is also an exciting possibility for me looking at next year, because they have a very strong project under construction. So yes, for me and my entourage, the options are open and my management is talking with different teams who have free places and, hopefully as soon as possible, I will know what will happen for me for next year. »
