France – Q1: Gasly surprised and eliminated

Terrible disillusionment for Pierre Gasly ! While the new improvements to his AT03 had allowed him to return to the Top 10 during free practice, the Norman took the door from Q1 this Saturday. Trapped by the brief yellow flag caused by Alex's spin Albon, the Habs were unable to improve their time and finished 16th and first eliminated at Castellet. He was joined by Lance stroll, Guanyu-Zhou, Mick Schumacher whose last time was deleted for non-compliance with the track limits, and Nicholas latifi.
At the front of the peloton, it is Charles Leclerc who signed the best time with a lap in 1'31"727, i.e. 0"164 faster than Max Verstappen. Although condemned to start from the back of the grid, Carlos Sainz took to the track and placed 3rd.
