The second part of qualifying for the French Grand Prix has delivered its verdict. After fifteen minutes, it's Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) who set the best time (1'30"735) ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Pérez (Red Bull).
Nice Q2 for Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri) who ranks 6th and will be among the 10 best drivers of the day at Paul Ricard. Fernando Alonso (Alpine) also has a smile since he will be present in Q3 unlike his teammate Esteban Ocon, 11th and first eliminated at the end of Q2.
Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin), Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) and George Russell (Williams) are the others eliminated.
Made a mistake in Q1 and nevertheless qualified for Q2, Mick Schumacher (Haas) logically did not take part in this second part of the qualifications.
