Williams Martini Racing took advantage of the week break between the Japanese and United States Grands Prix to announce its first driver for the 2019 season. Briton George Russell, FIA leader F2 and 3 GP2017 Series champion, will join the Grove team next year.
Russell has the support of Mercedes, where he evolves as a test and reserve pilot. Williams has yet to confirm a driver for 2019, a spot that could come down to Sergey Sirotkin or Esteban Ocon. More information to follow.
