Max Verstappen set the best time in Q1. The championship leader ahead Lewis Hamilton et Sergio Perez.
A session which was marked by two red flags. The first for the accident of Yuki tsunoda (Alpha Tauri) at the start of Q1. Then Mick Schumacher (Haas) at the end of Q1 when he had placed his car in the top 15.
The session was stopped and those eliminated are: Latifs (15th), Raïkkönen (16th), mazepin (17th), Stroll (19th) and Tsunoda (20th).
