Vitaly Petrov was rewarded by receiving the title of GQ Russian Sportsman of the Year in Moscow. The Lotus driver-Renault GP allows his country to open up to the world of motorsport before Russia welcomes the F1.

“I am very honored to have been voted Sportsman of the Year by GQ”, commented Vitaly Petrov. “F1 was almost unknown in Russia a few years ago and I am proud to see that the discipline is becoming more and more popular every year. I am very happy to be part of this progress and I hope that my future results will be useful to improve the popularity of the discipline before the first Russian Grand Prix in 2014. This season has been long and difficult but also exciting. »
