After several weeks of reflection, Haas F1 Team announces to keep Santino Ferrucci in its development program, despite his unsporting behavior towards his former teammate in F2 and development driver for the American team Arjun Maini.
« I think it's better to keep it in our program, explains Günther Steiner at the Belgian Grand Prix. We will see what he manages to do in Indycar and we will make a decision for the future. This boy is only at the beginning of his career, there's no point pulling the rug out from under him."
This decision comes a few days after Dale Coyne Racing's announcement to have Santino Ferrucci participate in the last two Indycar rounds of the season in Portland and Sonoma while the Trident team still claims that the American driver has not acquitted himself of its financial obligations towards the Italian team.
