Under investigation for a dangerous restart in qualifying, Isack Hadjar was spared by race control.

Hadjar escapes penalty

Isack Hadjar can relax and breathe: he won't have to step back on the grid for the Chinese Grand Prix. The French driver was under investigation by race control after qualifying this Saturday.

Indeed, when leaving his garage for his final attempt at Q3, the Racing Bulls driver was rushed back onto the track and accidentally cut off the road Max Verstappen, forced to brake and move into the pit lane while he was in the fast lane. This earned the Parisian driver a summons to the stewards' panel in the evening in Shanghai for a potential infringement.

After the hearing, and after both drivers were questioned, the stewards ruled that Isack Hadjar had nothing to do with it. This constituted an infringement of Article 34.14 a of the Sporting Regulations of the F1 was nevertheless noted, which led them to impose a fine of 5 euros on Racing Bulls, responsible for instructing its driver to leave his garage.

Very good news for Isack Hadjar who will indeed start from 7th place on the grid for the Chinese Grand Prix this Sunday (8:00 a.m.).
