Ron Dennis, along with Jacky Ickx, Mario Andretti and Tony Brookes, were inducted into Motorsport magazine's Hall of Fame last week. Born in 1947, Ron Dennis got his start in Formula 1 with Cooper in 1966, before getting involved in various motorsport disciplines and taking the reins of McLaren in 1980. Under the leadership of the Briton, McLaren won numerous world titles in F1, with Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna and Mika Häkkinen. Ron Dennis stepped down at the start of the 2009 season, handing over his position as team principal to Martin Whitmarsh.
