Lewis Hamilton assured that Mercedes GP did not have the ambition to welcome Fernando Alonso from 2018. The name of the Asturian is often mentioned in the prospects of replacing Valtteri Bottas in case the Finn doesn't do the trick.
" It will not arrive, Lewis Hamilton told the PA agency. Valtteri is fantastic within the team. He was really fast in the last race (in Australia). He has enormous potential, the challenge is to find the right balance within the team. Things are going well between us at the moment. »
Valtteri Bottas finished in 6th place last weekend at the Chinese GP after starting in head to tail while the safety car was on track. The Finn is in 4th place in the Championship, 20 points behind leaders Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) before the Bahrain Grand Prix contested this week.
