Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) won his 6th pole of the season by winning qualifying for the Belgian GP in a Q3 disrupted by rain. With a time of 1’58”179, the Championship leader was ahead by 7 tenths Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari).

The Racing Point Force India will monopolize the second row with Esteban Ocon in 3rd place ahead of his teammate Sergio Pérez. Romain Grosjean (Haas) secured 5th position ahead of Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) who could have taken pole without a mechanical problem encountered in the final minutes. THE Red Bull were only able to take the 4th line with Max Verstappen 7th in front Daniel Ricciardo. Kevin Magnussen (Haas) set the last time of Q3, Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) having quickly returned to the pits after spinning at Blanchimont while he was condemned to the back of the grid.
