It's a good habit for Lewis Hamilton et Mercedes-AMG F1. The reigning world champion and the team that won last year's Manufacturers' crown in F1 are among the list of nominees for the Laureus Sport Awards.
The Briton will be in the running for the title of Sportsman of the Year alongside Spaniard Marc Marquez, world champion MotoGP, the Argentinian Lionel Messi, striker of FC Barcelona, the American golfer Tiger Woods, the tennis player Rafael Nadal and the Kenyan distance specialist athlete Eliud Kipchoge.
Mercedes-AMG F1 is nominated for the title of Team of the Year, with Liverpool FC, winner of the 2019 Champions League, NBA champions the Toronto Raptors, the South African Springboks rugby world champions, Spanish men's basketball team and the American women's football team.
Sophia Flörsch is nominated in the comeback of the year category, after her accident in Macau in 2018 and her return to the Guia track this year in the FIA World Cup F3.
