During the Monaco Grand Prix, a cohort of grid girls will be placed on the starting grid ; not to hold the sign indicating the number and name of the pilot of Formula 1, but to represent the Tag Heuer brand, partner of the event, and take photos of the drivers for social networks.
This decision is appreciated by Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari). For the reigning champion, “Woman is the most beautiful thing in the world. Monaco is a very elegant round of the calendar, and when you arrive on the grid and there are lovely women, that's the Monaco Grand Prix. This is something very appreciable. »
The leader of the Scuderia confirms: “All the women who have worked as a grid girl in the past have done so of their own accord. I am sure that if you ask them next Sunday if they are happy to be there, they will say “yes”. »
As a reminder, Liberty Media (owner of F1) decided last winter to ban grid girls and replace them with children.
