Kobayashi seventh, Heidfeld eighth, Sauber achieved its best Grand Prix of the season last Sunday in Japan, scoring 10 points. After returning to Formula 1 in Singapore, Nick Heidfeld is very satisfied with this result, allowing him to show that he still has the level to progress in the premier discipline.
“I'm happy, it's the team?s best result this season,” explains the German. In the end I could have finished one place higher, but I was on a different tire strategy than Kamui, and he was apparently faster on his soft tyres. I started with them. I attacked very hard from the first laps but the safety car intervened and I found myself stuck behind Rubens (Barrichello, Editor's note). The team did a great job calling me early enough to change the tires. Compared to Singapore, we have made progress when it comes to racing. I am very impatient at the idea of competing in the last three races. »
Sauber having formalized Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez for 2011, Heidfled is looking for a steering wheel for 2011.
