The city of Hockenheim, which owns 94% of the circuit, voted unanimously against holding the German Grand Prix in 2010. Contested this year on the Nurburging, the German GP was to take place in Hockenheim in 2010. According to Autosport, the elected officials do not want to organize a GP which was in deficit to the tune of 6 million euros last year and which would be again next year. Bernie Ecclestone could nevertheless negotiate a lower contract so that the city can host the GP in 2010.
