Japan – Q2: Pérez best time ahead of Alonso

Sergio Pérez enters the battle. Behind this weekend compared to his teammate and the Ferrari, the Mexican woke up in Q2 by setting the best time in 1'29″925. The pilot Red Bull took advantage of an evolving track at the end of the session, and beat theAlpine de Fernando Alonso and his teammate, Max Verstappen. The French single-seaters are very well placed before Q3 sinceEsteban Ocon is present in the top 4. The two Ferraris, which remained in the pits at the end of the session, find themselves 6th with Sainz and 9th with Leclerc.
Among those eliminated, we find Daniel Ricciardo, who seemed well on his way to achieving a great performance. The Australian will start from 11th place, ahead Bottas et tsunoda, 13th at home. The Japanese had a small “altercation” on the track with Mick Schumacher leaving the pits and on the track. The German will start 15th.
