For a long time he was “the last world champion of Scuderia Ferrari”. Titled in 1979 with the stable of Maranello, the South African Jody Scheckter had concluded a decade of success for the Italian brand, before a 21-year drought before the first of five titles of Michael Schumacher in 2000.
The 69-year-old former driver visited his former team yesterday at the end of a day which saw him spend time in the different departments of the trans brandalpine with vice-president Piero Ferrari.
Scheckter then spent the afternoon within the Ferrari sporting entity, with Team Principal Mattia Binotto.
