Apart from the three new teams, the Sauber team is the only one to have its points counter stuck at zero. However, the Barcelona Grand Prix proved very encouraging for the Swiss team. Pedro de La Rosa and Kamui Kobayashi having notably qualified in 10th and 12th position respectively. Would the arrival of James Key have breathed new life into the team? In any case, it is with high morale that Peter Sauber and his men will attack the Monaco Grand Prix, even if a lot of work still remains to be done.

“It will be a very different event, the first circuit of the season requiring significant downforce, says James Key, Technical Director. It will be interesting to see how the cars, with their longer wheelbase and bigger fuel tanks, will behave. But obviously it's a very exciting meeting. We are going to use soft tires, so we will have to take care of them. And, obviously, we will have to be very careful, especially during qualifying, with a lot of cars on the track. We have some specific developments in Monaco for the car.”
