After the Stade de France then that of Wembley in London, the next edition of the Race of Champions will take place in the Olympic stadium in Beijing nicknamed the “Bird's Nest”.
Compared to previous years, the team (Nations Cup) and individual (Race of Champions) races will take place earlier in the season, on November 3 and 4. The greater surface area of the stadium will make it possible to enlarge the track according to Fredrick Johnsson, the organizer:
“The championships of F1 et WRC will be finished at this time and it will be much cooler than in December. The races will be held over two days and during the week so that drivers still busy with their championships are available. »
The Race of Champions will be the first international event organized in Beijing after the 2008 Games.
