The FIA race director, Charlie Whiting, revealed in the columns of?autosprint that the FIA had indicated three times to let Robert Kubica return, after Fernando Alonso cut a chicane to overtake the driver Renault.
« We warned Ferrari three times to let Kubica pass again, immediately after Alonso overtook. I told them that there would be no intervention from the commissioners if he returned to his initial position. They didn't listen until the third call when they responded that Alonso was already too far from the Pole and that the Renault driver was having problems. But in any case, we cannot be blamed for not having been reactive ».
