Starting this Sunday, March 28 at the Bahrain GP, the FIA will conduct “ in-depth technical checks » at the end of each competition weekend in Formula 1. The governing body is used to doing this in other championships under its aegis.

The federal technical department already has the power to control the legality of single-seaters after the race as it sees fit. He will now choose a car at random, will have it dismantled, and will ensure that it complies with the regulations, both in terms of the systems and the various on-board software.

These reinforced controls will take more time so that the official classification will be published with the mention “ subject to technical checks currently in progress ».
