On the sidelines of the last Spanish Grand Prix, the possibility emerged of seeing an overhaul of the rule of blue flags, deployed by the race marshals to indicate to latecomer drivers the arrival of the leaders.
Charlie Whiting, FIA racing director for the F1, told the media in the Catalan paddock that discussions were underway on the subject. « In Formula 1, blue flags are unpopular with many drivers and teams, comments Whiting, quoted by Car picture.
