While the Football World Cup has just left South Africa, the possibility of a Grand Prix in the land of vuvuzelas seems to be fading away.

Even if Bernie Ecclestone expresses his desire to make a trip to Cape Town in the next three years, public finances could stand in the way.

A consortium presented a project to President Zuma asking for a contribution of 7,5 million euros to build the circuit then aid of 5 million euros per year for eight years to host the Grand Prix.

The construction of infrastructure to host the Football World Cup would have cost South Africa 4 billion euros.
