The doubt is lifted. Lando Norris will indeed be on the Interlagos track this Friday, in Brazil. The Briton is fit to take part in the first day of the São Paulo Grand Prix. Sick on Thursday following suspected food poisoning, the young driver, almost 23 years old, was able to recover and was declared fit to take the wheel for Free Practice 1 and qualifying for this Sprint Race weekend.

On Friday morning, McLaren asked Nyck de Vries – reserve pilot Mercedes – to cast a seat as a precaution, in case Lando Norris had to forfeit. On social networks, the Briton even joked by declaring: “You can’t get rid of me that easily.”. Leading driver of the McLaren team, he will therefore be present in the battle against the Alpine for 4th place in the constructors' championship on the Interlagos circuit.
