Launched last April, construction of the track which will host the first Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in history next week will be completed in the coming days. To succeed in this extraordinary and unprecedented challenge, 37 tons of asphalt were necessary, as well as 000 tons of cement, the equivalent of 600 square meters of bricks, and 000 tons of glass. 30 subcontractors, 000 engineers, 1 companies, and 400 nationalities were involved in this titanic project.

The organizers assure that the strictest safety standards have been observed, with each worker having received dedicated training. The promoters also claim that Saudi labor laws, which notably limit hours spent in direct sunlight, have been scrupulously respected. Located on the Corniche which borders the Red Sea in the second largest city in the country after the capital Riyadh, the Jeddah circuit will be the longest urban route on the calendar with 2 km of track. It should also be the fastest with average speeds expected around 6,175 km/h and peaks at 252 km/h.
