Certain rumors which indicated that the Volkswagen group was interested in the F1 were buried by Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich. The sporting director of Audi rejected via the German press agency SID that the brand with the rings would consider entering the discipline. “We believe that Audi has no interest in being in F1, as long as the technology does not benefit the developments of the cars put on the market.”
Audi, already involved in endurance and DTM, therefore sees no interest in car. “The technologies developed in competition are subsequently put into practice in production. Which is not the case in F1.
