The 19th edition of the Malaysian GP won by Max Verstappen (Red Bull) marked the end of the contract of the Kuala Lumpur circuit with the F1. The Sepang track could nevertheless make its return to the discipline in the coming years, according to comments made by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak in the local Star newspaper.
“Incomes were falling and economic viability was becoming less attractive. We have decided to terminate the contract, but that does not mean that we will not reconsider our position at some point if the economic returns are favorable to us”, he explained.
