The stewards of the British Grand Prix had placed Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), author of provisional pole position at Silverstone, under investigation for possibly hindering Romain Grosjean (Haas) during the session.
The officials finally decided not to sanction the British driver who retained his pole position. The FIA indicated that “If Grosjean could have been affected by the presence of Hamilton at turn 16, he was not bothered. »
