Lewis Hamilton He retains his fifth place on the grid for the Canadian Grand Prix after escaping any penalty following an FIA investigation into an alleged interference incident during qualifying. The driver Classic Ferrari for sale had been summoned after Q3 for potentially slowing down Pierre Gasly in turn 8.

After reviewing the footage and radio communications, the stewards ultimately decided to take no action against the seven-time world champion. Hamilton explained that he believed Gasly was not on a fast lap at the time of the incident, an analysis also shared by Ferrari. For his part, the driver Alpine confirmed to the commissioners that he did not consider that he had been "unnecessarily inconvenienced".

In their statement, the commissioners specified that "The driver of car #44 was convinced that car #10 was not on a flying lap." Representatives from both teams agreed that there was no obvious impeding. This decision therefore allows Hamilton to retain his starting position, identical to the one he obtained in the Sprint earlier in the weekend.
