Rubens Barrichello (Brawn GP) set the best time in the first free practice session at the Valencia circuit on Friday morning. In 1:42.460, he is ahead of the two drivers McLaren Heikki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton. Romain Grosjean (Renault), for his first GP, achieved the 17th fastest time.
