Si Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) set the third fastest time in qualifying, he will only start eighth in the Japanese Grand Prix for having changed gearboxes. So these are three pilots powered by motors Renault who monopolize the top 3 of the starting grid: Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber (Red Bull) ahead of Robert Kubica (Renault).

« It?s very good to be back on the front line with our two cars, welcomes Fabrice Lom, in charge of the Renault engine at Red Bull Racing. With Kubica?s third place, it?s a very good result for Renault. It's a good thing to have postponed the session to today, which allowed us, in the dry, to show the pace of our car. »
