Jose Maria Lopez announces on his official website that he has reached an agreement with USF1 to drive one of the two cars entered in Formula 1 next year by the American team. However, the Argentine pilot must still provide additional budget to ?validate? his entry into the stable.
Little known to the general public, Jose Maria Lopez has especially shone in Argentinian super tourism in recent seasons. To his credit, Lopez has a Formula champion title Renault 2.0 Italy (2002), a Formula Renault V6 Eurocup championship title (2003) and two GP2 Series seasons (2005, 2006).
