Vitaly Petrov, whose seat at Renault F1 was threatened at the end of the season, could complete a second consecutive season in F1. Dany Bahar, boss of Group Lotus – who will take a stake in the teamenstone -, confided on BBC Radio that he is in favor of keeping the Russian driver within the team now called Lotus Renault GP. “Our first choice is Vitaly Petrov and we hope the team can announce the driver duo by the end of the year,” he said.
