After Nick Heidfeld tested the rear exhausts (RB7 configuration) during the day on Friday, Lotus-Renault GP has decided to switch back to front exhausts for this weekend.
Nick Heidfeld indicated that this change caused significant differences in the behavior of the R31, even if the potential was there.
