Sebastian Vettel was the fastest in Q1 of qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The pilot Ferrari dominated his rivals in 1’17”244, and precedes the Red Bull RB13 Max Verstappen.
Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) fails by 120 thousandths in third position and precedes Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) and Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes). Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) follows in the ranking ahead of both McLaren byAlonso and Vandoorne and the second R.S. 17 of Jolyon Palmer.
However, the following are eliminated at the end of Q1: Kevin Magnussen (Haas), yet author of a time similar to that of Sergio Pérez (Force India), 15th, Lance stroll (Williams), Pascal Wehrlein (Sauber), Paul di Resta (Williams) and Marcus Ericsson (Sauber). Note that di Resta is only seven tenths behind his Canadian teammate for his return to competition in F1.
