As expected Pastor Maldonado performed a show last Friday in the streets of Caracas, at his home in Venezuela. The reigning GP2 champion was for the occasion at the wheel of the Williams FW32, the big sister of the car that he will be driving this year.
The Venezuelan completed a few runs on an improvised circuit drawn through the streets of his country's capital, passing in particular in front of the historic Paseo de los Proceres (where there are statues of the Heroes of Venezuelan Independence), all under the eyes of President Hugo Chavez.

“It was incredible to share this experience with my compatriots, Maldonado explains. The number of people who came to watch the show was also impressive. Los Proceres is a very important place. Driving there F1 was so very special to me. I was very flattered to ride in front of our President, Mr. Chavez. A great way to start the season! »

The next time Pastor Maldonado will sit behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car will be in Valencia, from February 1 to 3, for the first pre-season tests.
