Sebastian Vettel being slower than most of his opponents, Felipe Massa tried to overtake him but made a mistake in the chicane located after the tunnel. Wanting to regain his place behind Vettel, Massa saw himself dispossessed of his fifth place by Nico Rosberg, an opportunist behind the two duettists.
