Felipe Massa (Ferrari), equipped with soft tires, achieved the third fastest time in the second free practice session for the Japanese Grand Prix, in 1:32:519. The Brazilian came within a tenth of a second of Mark Webber's time (Red Bull, 1?32??413), which has not improved for a long time.
