Always a pioneer when it comes to defending humanist causes, the stable Mercedes decided to celebrate Pride Month, in order to “to publicly demonstrate the support of Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 to the LGBTQ+ community”. Concretely, during the next three Grands Prix of the season, the gray star will give way to a rainbow star. It will be present on the noses of the two silver arrows, but also on the helmets of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in Azerbaijan, Canada and Great Britain.
The Austrian team has in fact specified that the fact of displaying “the star of pride constitutes a visual expression of our (its) commitments to create a team that gives pride of place to diversity and inclusiveness. We strongly believe that fostering a culture in which team members can freely express their personalities and identities will always benefit the team's overall performance.
Happy #PrideMonth ❤️🌈
We're proud to be running the @Mercedes Benz Pride Star on our W13s for the next three races, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and raising awareness for Pride Month 🙏 pic.twitter.com/WbMNiC8L8O

The tricolor stable Alpine will also provide its support by affixing the rainbow logo, the universal symbol of the LGBTQ+ community, to its two A522s. For his part, Aston Martin will not do anything visible on its AMR22, but plans to broadcast content and storytelling involving the community in order to “highlight real lives and real people”.
We're proud to mark Pride Month with symbols of allyship throughout June.
This includes a partnership with @RacingPrideHQ, the initiative to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion through motorsport. #PrideMonth 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
