While Bridgestone will withdraw from the World Championship of Formula 1 At the end of the season, Michelin seems to be on its way to once again becoming a manufacturer of the premier single-seater discipline. But the Clermont-Ferrand firm will only return under certain conditions, not wishing to be a simple supplier, but a partner who can highlight the qualities of its tire. Ross Brawn, team principal of Mercedes, understands this positioning.

« I think that for all the tire suppliers coming into Formula 1, we have to respect their expectations and try to match them with those of the teams, says Ross Brawn. If we leave no room for maneuver, we would not be as attractive as we could be. We must find a solution so that Michelin's arrival in F1 represents a challenge for them. If it has to be 18-inch tires and wheels, I think F1 is open-minded enough to know what is necessary. »
