Mercedes, this weekend, used a very little advanced version of its F-duct, a system allowing a flow of air to infiltrate under the car and come out at the level of the rear wing to remove part of the downforce aerodynamic, system inaugurated by McLaren. However, according to Ross Brawn, this intermediate version of the F-duct already brought a gain of a tenth of a second per lap. The Mercedes team principal told Shanghai that this system would be finalized for the Turkish Grand Prix (May 28-30).
